I love learning about brand development and seeing the changes that take place over time to a brands identity. I recently came across a neat video of an Alpha Bell (PacBell or AT&T) brand pitch by Saul Bass, it is rather lengthy but if you have the time definitely worth the watch. Over the years NBC has had some great changes to its identity so I whipped up a few different identity videos from 1953-2011.
You can also find out a little more info about the history of the NBC logo on the ‘NBC Logo’ Wikipedia page.

The new Twitter app update is a step backwards in my opinion and not because the colors are slightly different and the timeline now has rounded edges, but because I do not think the user experience was worked out enough.
Here are my thoughts:
Terms like “Connect” and “Discover” are vague.
Using a floating timeline makes a small screen even smaller.
Two search fields, people search and tweet search, can cause confusion and error.
The Connect page containts two categories: Interactions and Mentions which are virtually the same.
The Discover page is packed full of unwanted content. Before there was one promoted tweet, now in essence there are more than five.
Saved searches are disconnected from the actual search field.
If you have multiple accounts, it’s virtually impossible to keep track of which you are working in.
Because of this, until they fix these issues there will be one less user on Twitter and one more user on TweetBot, I guess you get what you pay for.
